What you need to know about "Tanabata"
When is "Tanabata"?
Tanabata in 2021 is on July 7th⭐️
This is the day when Orihime and Hikoboshi cross the Milky Way and meet only once a year. Write your wish on a strip of paper and hold it up against the bamboo.
The story of Tanabata is said to be based on ancient Chinese folklore.
It was passed down in Japan as a court ritual during the Nara period, and since Orihime was a master weaver, it was established as a custom to wish for improvement in all handicrafts.
In the Edo period, Tanabata became popular and became one of the ``Five Festivals.'' At that time, it was an official holiday of the Shogunate.
It is said that people used to write wishes on divine strips of paper in temple huts, hoping for better reading and writing🖋
About the stars of Tanabata and the constellations of Tanabata
There are stars representing Orihime and Hikoboshi, who cross the Milky Way and meet each other.
Star representing Orihime
Orihime is ``Vega of Lyra'' and is also called the Weaver Star.
Star indicating Hikoboshi
Hikoboshi is ``Altair in the constellation Aquila'' and is called the Cow Star.
Both are first-magnitude stars, so they are bright enough to be seen with the naked eye.
In Japan, it becomes easier to see from around the beginning of July and can be clearly seen until September.
During Tanabata, it begins to appear lower in the eastern sky from around 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. With the addition of Orihime and Hikoboshi “Deneb in the constellation Cygnus,” it is also called the “Summer Triangle”⭐️
These stars became brighter during the summer season, which is suitable for agriculture, so they were thought to be the stars that controlled agriculture and sericulture. However, this is the story of Tanabata in the lunar calendar.
The difference between Tanabata in the lunar calendar and today's Tanabata
Note that Tanabata in the lunar calendar still exists today as "Traditional Tanabata" and is announced every year by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan.
Traditional Tanabata in 2021 is August 14th 😊
It's also great to be able to celebrate Tanabata twice, with Tanabata on July 7th and traditional Tanabata.

What are Tanabata flowers?
blue star
Blue star is a flower shaped like a star. Because of its shape, it is associated with ``Orihime'' and ``Hikoboshi'' and is often used as flower gifts during the Tanabata season. The refreshing blue color is perfect for the summer season.
The language of flowers is ``heart of mutual trust'' and ``love of happiness.'' This also feels somehow connected to Tanabata.
It's perfect as a surprise present for your lover on Tanabata Day.
hydrangea
A flower that is characterized by the appearance of many flowers gathered together. Because the shape of the flower resembles a star, it is often used as a Tanabata flower gift because it is reminiscent of the Milky Way.
They come in a wide variety of colors, including blue, pink, and white.
Blue hydrangeas are often used during Tanabata.
The language of flowers is "family reunion". These flowers are perfect as a Tanabata gift to enjoy with your family.

Tanabata limited edition Enjoy a stylish gift room ceremony Enjoy the Tanabata decoration season Star-shaped kit

There is a legend that if Hikoboshi and Orihime shining in the sky are reflected in a bowl filled with water, your wish will come true.
This Tanabata decoration was created with inspiration from that legend⭐️
Below the sake cup is a piece of paper with a motif of ``kaji leaf'', which is the origin of the strip of paper. Since we made a wish there, let's raise our hands to the stars.
The chopsticks that are hung over the sake cup are designed to look like ``a bridge that a magpie can cross.''
It depicts a magpie spreading its wings and creating a bridge across the Milky Way for Hikoboshi and Orihime to meet.
The chopsticks are tied with a string tied in the ``Kano-musubi'' knot, which is said to make wishes come true.
